About The Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel occupies a commanding Victorian building on Grand Parade, overlooking Longsands Beach. Built in 1872 as a summer residence for the Duchess of Northumberland, it has long been a landmark on the Tynemouth seafront and bills itself as the original luxury hotel in the North East. Its elevated position gives many of its rooms and public spaces sweeping views out over the beach and the North Sea, and it remains a distinctive part of the town's coastal skyline.
