About Kings Priory School

Kings Priory School is an all-through academy in the coastal village of Tynemouth, close to Tynemouth Priory and Castle. It was established in September 2013 through the merger of The King's School Tynemouth, formerly independent, and Priory School, and is part of the Woodard Academies Trust. Occupying a historic site on Huntington Place, the school is structured into First School, Middle School, Senior School and Sixth Form, giving continuity of education across the age range.

The school educates pupils from Early Years through to Sixth Form, spanning ages 4 to 18. It is known for a distinctive school day with an enrichment programme for all pupils and offers wraparound care and out-of-school club provision to support families. Kings Priory has been recognised by The Good Schools Guide, which named it Best Secondary School.
