About Whitley Bay High School

Whitley Bay High School is a large mixed 13-to-18 comprehensive on Deneholm, serving Whitley Bay and the wider coastal communities of North Tyneside. A foundation school and member of The North Tyneside Learning Trust, it takes students in the upper tier of the local three-tier system and runs a substantial sixth form, with roughly 1,760 students on roll. It is one of the largest schools in the borough.

The school offers a broad academic curriculum with well-regarded provision across the sciences and performing arts, and a sixth form supporting progression to higher education, apprenticeships and employment. At its most recent graded inspection in June 2024, Ofsted judged Whitley Bay High School to be Outstanding.
