About Tynemouth Golf Club

Tynemouth Golf Club was founded in 1913 and its 18-hole parkland course at Spital Dene was laid out by Willie Park, one of the most respected course architects of the era. At around 6,330 yards and a par of 70 it is a relatively flat but deceptively testing round, with several holes that reward accuracy over length, and it suits players of varying ability. It is a private members club that welcomes visiting golfers and societies, with a pro shop, practice facilities and buggy hire.

The clubhouse is a well-used local amenity beyond the golf. It has three distinct areas, a bar, a lounge and a dining room, plus a patio looking out over the course, and it has a good reputation locally for Sunday lunch and afternoon tea. Function and conference space is available to hire for birthdays, anniversaries, christenings and wedding or funeral parties, and the club actively welcomes business enquiries for meetings, workshops, seminars and client presentations. Catering is arranged to suit the event rather than sold as a single fixed package, so it is worth discussing numbers and format directly with the club.
