The weekly market under Tynemouth's restored Victorian station glass roof takes on a festive character through December, with over 150 stalls of gifts, crafts, food and vintage finds.

Tynemouth Station Market trades every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3:30pm beneath the glass canopy of the Grade II* listed Victorian station. In the run-up to Christmas the market swells with seasonal stalls selling handmade gifts, decorations, artisan food, vintage and antiques, making it one of the North East coast's most popular festive browsing spots. Across December 2026 the market runs on every weekend up to Christmas: 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21 December, with the first weekend of the month on 5-6 December. The market does not open on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Entry is free and the covered platforms keep shoppers out of the coastal weather. The station sits directly on the Tyne and Wear Metro yellow line, so visitors can arrive car-free, and there are cafes and food stalls on the platforms for a festive lunch while browsing. Dates for individual weekends are confirmed by the market's weekly Saturday and Sunday pattern; shoppers are advised to arrive early for the busiest pre-Christmas weekends.
