About Tynemouth Amateur Swimming Club (TASC)

Tynemouth Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) is a competitive swimming club based at Tynemouth Pool on Preston Road North in North Shields. Regularly represented at county, regional and national level, the club combines competitive ambition with a strong community feel, catering for swimmers of every ability from complete beginners through to those racing nationally. In recent years it has enjoyed notable success in the Junior League, reflecting the depth of its age-group and squad structure.

The club runs a full learn-to-swim pathway from age three upwards, taking swimmers from Tadpoles through the graded group stages and on into its competitive squads. These are organised across six progressive levels, spanning Competitive and Performance tiers, so that swimmers can advance as their skills and stamina develop. TASC also offers a Masters programme for adults aged eighteen and over, providing structured training and competition opportunities for older swimmers alongside its junior and performance provision.
