About Linskill Nursery
Linskill Nursery is an Ofsted-registered early years setting based within the Linskill Centre on Linskill Terrace in North Shields. It is run by the Linskill and North Tyneside Community Development Trust, a registered charity (no. 1119143), and describes itself as a friendly, professional and inclusive nursery. The setting was rated Good by Ofsted in May 2024 and cares for children from birth to five years across a series of age-grouped base rooms, from the Bunnies and Squirrels rooms for the youngest through Hedgehogs, Foxes and the Owls preschool room.
The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework alongside a nature-inspired, Forest School approach, running weekly Forest School sessions and offering free-flow play between indoor and outdoor spaces. Facilities include an outdoor play area with a mud kitchen and climbing frame, role-play areas and an onsite sensory room, with an emphasis on learning through movement, community-based learning and environmental sustainability. Children self-serve meals as part of the day, and the setting includes a school-readiness focus to prepare older children for the transition into reception.
