About Kumon North Shields Study Centre

The Kumon North Shields Study Centre is a maths and English tuition centre run by instructor Faiqa Ali, meeting within the Linskill Centre on Linskill Terrace in North Shields. It uses the Kumon self-learning method, in which students of all ages and abilities work through carefully structured worksheets at their own pace, both in the centre and daily at home, building confidence, concentration and independent study skills. The centre is Ofsted registered, offers disabled access and free parking, and runs weekday sessions between 15:00 and 19:00 as well as Saturday mornings from 09:00 to 13:00. As an Ofsted-registered provider it is eligible for childcare voucher and Tax-Free Childcare schemes, which can help reduce the monthly cost.

After an initial diagnostic test the instructor sets a personalised study plan pitched at the right starting level, sometimes below school year to secure firm foundations, with students then progressing in small, incremental steps. Both the maths and English programmes are individualised to each student's level rather than their school year, allowing children to progress beyond their expected grade regardless of their starting point, with each subject typically taking around thirty minutes per visit. The centre supports early learners through to secondary students aiming for top GCSE grades, and offers both in-centre and online study, including access to Kumon Connect digital worksheets for those working on a tablet.
