About Jade Harrison School of Dance

Jade Harrison School of Dance opened in March 2006 and operates from a purpose-built facility at 242 New York Road in North Shields, drawing students from across North Tyneside and neighbouring areas including Newcastle, Wallsend and Whitley Bay. The school features two large mirrored dance studios, an onsite theatre seating up to 80 with professional lighting, sound and curtains, a café with Wi-Fi for waiting parents, private changing rooms, a large car park to the rear and its own dancewear shop, and aims to keep classes fun while maintaining high standards.

Classes run for children from three years of age, with pre-school ballet as the entry point, and cover a broad range of styles including ballet, Progressing Ballet Technique, lyrical contemporary, Broadway and musical theatre, tap and Acrobatic Arts. The school is accredited with the Royal Academy of Dance, the International Dance Teachers Association and Acrobatic Arts: students can work towards RAD graded examinations in ballet and IDTA examinations in modern jazz and tap, gaining nationally recognised qualifications, and there are performance opportunities throughout the year both within and outside the school.
