About East End Youth & Community Centre

The East End Youth and Community Centre is a community facility at Kettlewell House on George Street in North Shields, running since 1964. Its aim is to enhance quality of life through education, training, health, social and leisure opportunities for everyone in the local area, serving children, young people and adults alike. Weekly youth-club drop-in sessions run across several evenings on a donation basis, with snacks included, and there are toddler groups for younger families.

Activities on offer include kickboxing, karate, archery, dance and arts and crafts, alongside summer programmes and holiday clubs that provide meals. The centre has a fully marked sports hall suitable for football, badminton and basketball, a community kitchen and multiple hireable event spaces and activity rooms. It is run as a not-for-profit community organisation.
