About The Coastal Club

The Coastal Club is an inclusive school-holiday activity camp for children, run by qualified teaching staff at Valley Gardens Middle School in Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. Describing itself as fun, active and inclusive, it is led by Aled, a full-time primary teacher with ten years' experience in North Tyneside who specialises in PE and physical activity and works as a Senior Mental Health Lead. Staff are qualified teachers and teaching assistants, and the club also partners with Royal Grammar School Newcastle for camps aimed at Reception to Year 9.

The main camps cater for children aged five to twelve and balance high-energy sport with more relaxed play, mixing traditional PE and team games with dodgeball, capture the flag, art and design tasks, board games and Lego building. A Nippers strand caters for younger children, while informal Starfish drop-in sessions welcome toddlers with a participating parent. Camps run across February half term, Easter, May half term and the summer holidays, with sibling discounts available.
