About Tempest Martial Arts
Tempest Martial Arts is a family-focused academy based at 42 Newcastle Quays Retail Park on Coble Dene in North Shields (NE29 6DW), close to the Royal Quays area and a short drive from Tynemouth. It teaches kickboxing alongside karate, with a strong emphasis on child development and fitness, and organises its members into age-specific groups so nobody is training with children much older or younger than themselves.
Classes run through the week for everyone from young Cubs up to teens and adults, and the academy offers a free introductory session so newcomers can try a class before signing up. That combination of clearly separated age bands, a family atmosphere and a no-obligation taster makes it a good option for parents on the coast looking to get children started in a striking art, or to take up kickboxing themselves.
