PaddlePod is a swimming and family activity venue on the Algernon Industrial Estate in Shiremoor, built around the idea of swim, eat, and play. Its centrepiece is a purpose-built indoor pool, around fifteen metres long and 1.3 metres deep, used for lessons and available for private hire. A large viewing area overlooks the water, complete with a café serving snacks and coffee from the Tynemouth Coffee Company, giving parents somewhere comfortable to watch lessons or relax between activities. Free on-site parking makes it convenient for families across North Tyneside.

The venue runs swimming lessons from babies through to adults, welcoming infants from a few weeks old with small class ratios for safety and attention. Beyond swimming, it offers a café with a soft play area for the under-fives, plus parent-and-baby activity classes. The soft play is open for drop-in visits on weekday mornings, with entry free when making a café purchase, making PaddlePod a flexible spot for lessons, casual play, and a coffee under one roof.
