About Low Quay Brew Co
Low Quay Brew Co is an independent brewery and taproom on Northumberland Street, a short walk up from the North Shields Fish Quay, founded by Kamie Sword and Scott Taylor. It brews on site and pours its own beers alongside guest lines, and the taproom has built a loyal local following as one of the newer additions to the town's growing food and drink scene. The venue is dog-friendly and family-friendly, and hosts occasional events such as pop-up galleries and photo walks.
In summer 2026 the brewery opened a new outdoor space built around a converted 40ft shipping container fitted out as a bar and kitchen, adding covered and open-air seating on Northumberland Street. A food menu is planned to launch in August, and the taproom marks its second anniversary the same month. Opening hours are typically Thursday to Sunday, but it is worth checking ahead as hours and the kitchen offer are still settling in.
