Created by Mr Rahman and his two sons, who bring over 45 years of experience in the restaurant catering industry, Gulshan opened in February 2015 and quickly established itself as one of the best Indian restaurants on the coast.

The food is cooked with care and the portions are generous. The menu covers the classics alongside grilled specialities and chef's creations, and the cocktail bar adds a dimension you will not find in most Indian restaurants. Gate of India

Gate of India at 40 Front Street is the more traditional of the two, and its location right on Tynemouth's main street makes it a convenient stop before or after a walk along the coast.
