Pattinson is the North East's largest family-owned independent estate agency, serving Tynemouth from its North Shields office. Founded by Keith Pattinson on 4 July 1977, the business deliberately launched on American Independence Day to reflect the independence at the heart of its ethos. From a single office and one man selling three properties, it has grown into a network of around thirty branches across the region, employing more than 250 staff, and is widely recognised as the North East's most established agency, officially selling more properties in the region than any other.

The agency provides a comprehensive range of property services under one roof, covering residential sales, lettings and property management, commercial property, financial services, and surveys and conveyancing. Its secure sale auction department, Pattinson Auction, was launched in 1992 and offers an alternative route to market for sellers. With deep local coverage across Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland, Durham, and Teesside, the North Shields branch draws on the agency's regional scale to serve buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants across Tynemouth and the coast.
