Nicholson's is a fourth-generation, family-run butcher and bakery on Park View in Whitley Bay, established in 1914 and trading for more than a century. Now led by Kathryn, the great-granddaughter of the founder, who combines a background in food science and business with generations of accumulated knowledge, the business has grown beyond a traditional butcher and baker to position itself as a destination for food lovers, entertainers and hosts.

Alongside the butchery, which is known for dry-aged beef, expertly prepared joints, pork pies, award-winning sausages and oven-ready meals, the shop offers fresh handmade bakery goods, a deli counter of cooked meats, charcuterie, cheese and entertaining platters, plus quiches, scotch eggs, sausage rolls and a grocery range of sauces, wines, puddings and gifts. Free local delivery and collection slots are available, and the business also runs experience evenings combining fine dining with learning.
