Summer is rolling now and this weekend has a real mix of events on the coast and across the wider North East. The Station Market is back, Feast by the Sea takes over Spanish City, and Newcastle Racecourse hosts its biggest fixture of the year. Here is what is happening from Friday to Sunday.

North Tyneside Together Festival

Friday 27 June at North Shields. A community festival celebrating the people and places of North Tyneside. Running from 11am to 5pm with stalls, performances, and activities for all ages. A great way to start the weekend.

Tynemouth Station Market

Feast by the Sea -- Spanish City, Whitley Bay

Saturday and Sunday at Spanish City, Whitley Bay. One of the coast's best food festivals returns to the plaza outside the Spanish City dome. Street food traders, local producers, live cooking, and a brilliant atmosphere. Well worth the short trip along the coast from Tynemouth.

Northumberland Plate Festival

Saturday 28 June at Newcastle Racecourse. The biggest day in the North East racing calendar. The Plate has been run at Gosforth Park since 1882 and always draws a huge crowd. A full day of racing, food, and entertainment.

Buzz Dance: At The Movies

Something in the Water -- Joe McElderry
