What's On This Weekend in Tynemouth & the North East (20-22 June)

A packed Father's Day weekend with plenty to do on the coast and across the North East. The Station Market is back under the canopy, The Hoppings takes over Town Moor, and Blyth Live brings free music to the seafront. Here is what is happening from Friday to Monday.

Tynemouth Station Market

Saturday and Sunday at Tynemouth Station. FREE entry. The region's favourite weekend market returns beneath the Victorian canopy with handmade jewellery, vintage fashion, ceramics, prints, and street food. A great Father's Day morning out.

Tynemouth Station Book Fair

Monday 22 June at Tynemouth Station. FREE entry. Thousands of second-hand and antiquarian books fill the station on Monday. Fiction, history, children's titles, and collectors' editions -- well worth a browse if you are off work for the day.

The Hoppings 2026

All weekend at Town Moor, Newcastle. Europe's largest travelling funfair returns to Town Moor for its annual run. Over 300 rides, stalls, and attractions spread across the Moor. A North East institution and a brilliant day out for all the family.

Blyth Live 2026

Saturday 20 June at the Blyth seafront. FREE. A free music festival on the Blyth seafront with live bands across multiple stages. A cracking day out and easily reached from Tynemouth by car or bus.

Joe McElderry -- Playhouse Whitley Bay

Friday 20 June at the Playhouse, Whitley Bay. The South Shields singer and X Factor winner performs at the Playhouse. A short hop down the coast for an evening of pop and musical theatre favourites.

Ballet by the Bay Gala -- Playhouse Whitley Bay

Sunday 21 June at the Playhouse, Whitley Bay. A Father's Day treat for dance lovers. Local ballet schools come together for a gala performance at the beautiful Playhouse.

Jeff Beck & Rod Stewart Experience -- The Cluny

Saturday 20 June at The Cluny, Newcastle. A tribute night celebrating the music of Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart at one of Newcastle's best live music venues. A short Metro ride from Tynemouth.

Operation Mincemeat -- Theatre Royal

Monday 22 June at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle. The Olivier Award-winning musical about one of the Second World War's most audacious deception plans. A superb night at Newcastle's grandest theatre.
