Tynemouth.live·

If you are looking for a dance school that covers every genre under one roof, Decote Dance at Royal Quays in North Shields has been doing exactly that since opening in the summer of 2009. The studio caters for young people aged 18 months to 18 years across ballet, jazz, tap, freestyle, acrobatic arts, musical theatre, commercial, contemporary, and pre-school babyballet.

The Studio

Based at Unit 39 in the Royal Quays Outlet Centre on Coble Dene, Decote Dance operates from a fully equipped studio with a sprung wooden floor, full-length mirrors, and a professional sound system. The sprung floor is an important detail — it protects growing joints during jumps and high-impact routines, something not every community venue can offer.

A Broad Curriculum

What distinguishes Decote Dance is the sheer breadth of styles available. A child can begin with babyballet sessions as a toddler and, as they grow, branch into street dance, acro, or musical theatre without needing to change schools. This variety keeps young dancers engaged and allows them to discover where their strengths and interests lie.

Growing With Tyneside

Described as one of Tyneside's fastest-growing fitness and dance companies, Decote Dance has built a loyal following among North Tyneside families. The Royal Quays location offers easy parking and is well served by public transport, making it accessible for families across Tynemouth, North Shields, and Wallsend.

Classes run throughout term time with additional holiday workshops. Timetables and booking details are available on the Decote Dance website.
